EC SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY COMPETITION TAKES CENTRE STAGE IN PORT ST JOHNS
The Eastern Cape Department of Education in partnership with the Department of Sports, Recreation, Arts and Culture (DSRAC) and Eastern Cape Schools Athletics, recently hosted the highly anticipated EC School Cross Country Competition at the Port St Johns CMC Golf Course. The event brought together 890 learners from across the Province, promoting physical fitness, teamwork and healthy competition. Selected athletes will represent the province in the National Competition in October in White River, Mpumalanga.

EC EDUCATION HOSTS RURAL EDUCATION PARTNERSHIP CONFERENCE
The Eastern Cape Department of Education in partnership with Axium, a non-profit organization, recently hosted a two-day conference in East London. Themed "Education Partnership to Strengthen Pathways for Rural Youthâ, the conference brought together district officials, education specialists, and stakeholders to discuss strategies for improving literacy and numeracy among rural learners. Axium has been working closely with the Amatole East and OR Tambo Education Districts to achieve this goal.

Setting the Tone for Success: Provincial Curriculum Management Forum Concludes with Impact!
The Provincial Curriculum Management Forum which was held in Osner Hotel from 30 July to 01 August 2025 recently concluded a crucial accountability session for districts during Term 2 of 2025. The three-day meeting brought together key stakeholders to review and assess delivery strategies, analyze Term 2 results, to strengthen accountability mechanisms, and share best practices and innovative solutions among districts.
