SASA II National Games 2024 Day 2
Day 2 of the athletics: The Eastern Cape team has made exceptional progress, scooping 14 medals, 11 Gold medals & 3 Silver Medals. The events that the learners are participating in are; Long Jump, High Jump, Shot put, Discus throw, Javelin and Track.

EC Education Bursary Advocacy Campaign
EC Education together with Walter Sisulu University, Wits University and University of Fort Hare are continuing with the bursary advocacy campaign around the Province talking to unemployed youth about opportunities available to them through Matthew Goniwe and Funza Lushaka Bursaries. The campaign seeks to recruit potential candidates to enroll for a Degree in Education (B. ED) particularly in remote and disadvantaged area of the Province.

SASA-II National Games 2024
The SASA-II Age Group Games hosted by the ECDoE and the South African Sports Association for the intellectually impaired (SASA-II) are still underway at Nelson Mandela University. The learners have been doing exceptionally well with the EC Team leading in all sports codes.

MEC outreach programme
Since 2019, the office of the MEC has initiated an Outreach Programme themed "Bonke Ngabethu", whereby various activities are hosted to advocate for the rights of learners who experience barriers to learning. This initiative aims to identify and address learning challenges, promoting equal access to education for all learners that have special needs.
