EC Education Bursary Advocacy Campaign

EC Education together with Walter Sisulu University, Wits University and University of Fort Hare are continuing with the bursary advocacy campaign around the Province talking to unemployed youth about opportunities available to them through Matthew Goniwe and Funza Lushaka Bursaries. The campaign seeks to recruit potential candidates to enroll for a Degree in Education (B. ED) particularly in remote and disadvantaged area of the Province.

The SASA-II Age Group Games hosted by the ECDoE and the South African Sports Association for the intellectually impaired (SASA-II) are still underway at Nelson Mandela University. The learners have been doing exceptionally well with the EC Team leading in all sports codes.

Education is not the only aspect of schools that need continual improvement. This also applies to classroom safety. Though classroom hygiene has always been a major issue of discussion among school administrators, the Department of Basic Education has put emphasis on upkeep and new sanitization practices through a training that was held at ICC East London to educate officials on how to utilize the infrastructure funds and what to do with it with the help of School Principals and SGBs because it takes a community to raise a child.
