Three Eastern Cape primary school learners including their mother perished due to fire, as their house burnt down to ashes while sleeping last Tuesday, in Upper Mbulukweza village, Chris Hani East Education District.

Quality Learning and Teaching Campaign (QLTC) in 12 Districts of Eastern Cape
The Easten Cape Department of Education together with Department of Basic Education, launched the Quality Learning and Teaching Campaign (QLTC). The main focus of the campaign is to mobilize all civil society sectors to play an active role to improve the level and quality of education through improved learner achievement. Ensuring that education is a societal matter, QLTC is a sub-committee of the School Governing Body (SGB) that works hand in hand with parents and different stakeholders to ensure the well-being of a learner and improve learning in our schools.

Lusikisiki J.S.S takes the top spot at the SASCE Music festival in OR Tambo inland, Mthatha
OR Tambo Inland Mthatha, Mandela Park Primary School was a buzz as it hosted the Cluster A South African Schools Choral Eisteddfod Music Competition. During the 3-day event, 42 choirs from 6 districts which are Alfred Nzo East and West, Joe Gqabi, OR Tambo inland, OR Tambo Coastal and Chris Hani East took to the stage to give a beautiful rendition of Western and African pieces inter alia.
