Program Director, the target set for this current academic year is 80% and above. The analysis of results in the first quarter indicates that we managed to achieve 80.8% and this has been a steady increase from 74.3% in 2021 and 75.5% in 2022.

MEC Gade delivers 2023/24 Policy and Budget Speech

Madam Speaker, the Department’s expenditure increased from R37.507 billion in 2019/20 to a revised estimate of R39.796 billion in 2022/23. The 2023/24 budget allocation increases slightly by 3.3 per cent to R41.128 billion mainly due to additional funds provided for personnel and norms and standards in the baseline.
