The Curriculum Management Directorate, in partnership with Sasol, recently hosted the Vocational Subjects Competition at Port Rex Technical High School in East London. This premier event held on 30 & 31 August 2025 brought together outstanding learners in technical vocational subjects, providing them with a platform to showcase their skills and knowledge. The competition provides learners with a platform to showcase their skills and knowledge in various technical vocational subjects.

The Eastern Cape Department of Education in partnership with the Department of Sports, Recreation, Arts and Culture (DSRAC) and Eastern Cape Schools Athletics, recently hosted the highly anticipated EC School Cross Country Competition at the Port St Johns CMC Golf Course. The event brought together 890 learners from across the Province, promoting physical fitness, teamwork and healthy competition. Selected athletes will represent the province in the National Competition in October in White River, Mpumalanga.

On 28 August 2025, the Eastern Cape Department of Education's Youth and Special Programmes Directorate hosted a vibrant employees' health and wellness event in Gqeberha, commemorating Women's Month. The event brought together women from all five branches and the twelve districts of the department, providing a platform for relaxation, empowerment, and connection.
