The Premier of the Eastern Cape Oscar Mabuyane recently handed over a state of the art R48 million worth James Ndulula primary school to the community of Langa in Uitenhage, Gqeberha. 
 
The primary school comprises of to name but a few, a science and media lab, fully equipped nutrition center,23 various classrooms and administration block. 

The Langa community graced the windy weather in numbers to accept the long anticipated completed structure from the government.

The School Governing Body Chairperson Malibongwe Douw said, “this community has had various predicaments their way.

With the school of this pedigree, the school is beacon of hope for the community of Langa township", said Douw. 
 
"With this facility, parents will know that their children are in a safe and well secured environment", he added. 
 
Douw welcomed the realisation of the much needed structure from the government to make sure that not only the learners are safe but the infrastructure is as well from unlawfulness.

“Yes the school is well fenced, but we do not have a security personnel nor a groundsman at the school, we hope that the department will look into securing a permanent person for this post.” Said Douw. 
 
Accepting the school from the Premier, was the school principal, Loraine Bonani who promised another hundred percent pass rate this year like in 2019 and 2020.

"This promise is no child’s play, but for us it's possible", said Bonani.

The Premier was enthusiastic and confirmed that the handover was part of the correcting imbalances of the past.

“We are here today at a place that has history, an area that has demonstrated that people were fighting for their liberation.

Freedom would be no complete without education saying. We are bringing this infrastructure here so that our people can realize what they had hoped for. Education is our apex priority as government, and we are fullfing our commitment of better life for all ”, said Mabuyane. 
 
The Premier also commended the principal of the school for holding the fort in making sure that she fights for the future of the 930 learners registered learner of this school.   

The Premier, a university graduate himself urged the learners to follow suite and use the school to further their studies. 

"The learners will not get to see certain things for the first time when they get to tertiary level of education but will have already been exposed at a young age because they have technology at their grip", said Mabuyane. 
 
The premier also commended the MEC of the Education Department, Fundile Gade and his department for making sure that the school is resourced well for the exposure of this youth while within the  education space.

“This is an investment to this community,when we put children in schools, nurturing them we are bringing in a sustainable solution to their households. Education is the key to the future,” concluded Mabuyane.
