The Eastern Cape Department of Education recently hosted a school opening ceremony at Krazukile Secondary School, located in the Amathole East District, eGcuwa. This momentous occasion marked a significant milestone in the school's history, as it unveiled its revamped facilities and reinforced its commitment to providing quality education.

During the event, the MEC generously donated 100 school shoes to learners, promoting a positive and supportive learning environment. This gesture of kindness embodies the department's dedication to empowering learners and fostering a culture of excellence.

Established in 1986, Krazukile Secondary School has undergone significant transformations, positioning itself for a bright future. The school's revamped facilities are designed to provide a superior educational experience, fostering growth, innovation, and success among learners and staff.

MEC Fundile Gade delivered an inspiring message to the scholars and the community of Centane by empowering and encouraging them through these words,” combining different backgrounds and races doesn’t make an individual lose their identity, it will be an issue if Xhosa children learn a culture that’s not theirs.”

He later added that, “umsengi onezandla ezinomlaza ziyaziphunzisa iimazi, there must be a different way to do things, we must adopt new advanced ways of doing things.” His words served as a powerful reminder that education should not only focus on academic achievement but also on cultivating a sense of identity and cultural awareness.

The Coega Development Corporation, acting as an Implementing Agent, successfully revitalized Krazukile Secondary School, incorporating the following notable enhancements:

Educational Infrastructure which included a refurbishment of six classrooms, construction of two new classrooms, ensuring ample space for effective teaching and learning.

Administrative Efficiency which includes a brand-new administration block, streamlining school operations management

State-of-the-Art Facilities which were a fully equipped science laboratory, fostering hands-on learning and experimentation, combined library and computer laboratory, catering to diverse learning styles and interests. These upgrades and additions have significantly enhanced the overall learning environment, providing learners and staff with modern facilities and resources to support academic excellence.
