Jenn Training and consultancy in collaboration with the Eastern Cape Department of Education (ECDOE) held a 5 day autumn classes for Grade 12 in the Mdantsane area.
The classes were held at Sandisiwe High School in Nu 14 Mdantsane were 4 high schools from Buffalo City Metro Municipality (BCMM) converged in the school for classes specifically content subjects.
“The purpose of the Jenn Autumn Program is to teach all content subjects in order to ensure that content gap that was created by Covid 19 is closed and learners are enhanced, developed , prepared for final exams and train their minds to reason so that they have insight,” Said Ms. N. Zozo the Centre Manager. She further said that “it is to assist them to be able to achieve best results and improve the results of the Province.
Elaborating more on the above statement was Sandisiwe High School Principal Mr. MM. Jack, he had this to say, “the aim of the program is to improve results so that learners can qualify for Institutions of higher learning, the program is also important because it encourages learners, increase their focus, spend more time on their books and being taught by highly experienced teachers.”
When asked Ms. N.Hosolo, a Geography teacher at the center, what is their key functions and responsibilities in the Jenn program as tutors.
She had the following to say, ”it is to impart knowledge to learners through teaching and learning, giving learners knowledge about the content of a subject, advising learners on how to interpret and analysis of questions.”
Speaking on behalf of learners were 2 learners from Sandisiwe High School was a male Olothando Mcoyana and from Moses Mabhida Senior Secondary School was Khanyisa Peter a female.
Olothando said, ”Jenn classes provide a platform were as students we can learn our subjects from different teachers who provide different explanations of the topics we learn in class, we also gain some source of information from subjects we were lacking knowledge from.”
Additionally, Khanyisa said,” the Jenn Program was definitely beneficial as it brought more clarity on the topics that were covered and led to a better understanding of the topics.”
