EC EDUCATION CELEBRATES EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION

 

The Eastern Cape Education Department's Provincial Teacher Development Institute Unit (QPTDI) in Queenstown recently hosted its inaugural National Teacher Awards celebration ceremony, a prestigious celebration of excellence in education. The event was a resounding success, honoring outstanding educators from across the Province for their dedication, innovation and commitment to shaping the minds of future generations.

According to the Programme Manager for QPTDI, Sikelelwa Mzamo this event highlights the importance of teacher development and the crucial role educators play in fostering a culture of learning and excellence. "It is not just a celebration of individual achievement but a collective affirmation of the critical role of teachers. We are here to recognize educators at all levels and nurture them. For the winners, it is about building morale and pride amongst teachers and fostering a culture of recognition, excellence, and continuous improvement” said Mzamo.

Joe Gabi Education District Director, Dr. Bedeshani Mceleni inspired the crowd with heartfelt praise for the outstanding efforts of educators. "Congratulations to our exceptional winners for their tireless efforts in putting our province on the map”, said Mceleni. "This celebration is a testament to the incredible work being done in our schools. Keep pushing boundaries. Your dedication and passion are the driving forces behind our district's success. Continue to strive for excellence and together we will create a brighter future for our learners and our Province”, Mceleni added.

Motebang Sephuhle, a teacher at Tsolobeng Junior Secondary School and nominee in the ‘Excellence in Primary School Leadership’ category, beamed with pride as he accepted his award. Representing the Joe Gqabi Education District, he expressed his gratitude and humility. "This recognition is a huge motivator for me and my colleagues, it reminds us that our hard work and dedication to our learners and our community are valued and appreciated. I am humbled to be part of this incredible community of educators and I am excited to continue making a positive impact on the lives of our learners”, added Sephuhle.

Phiwokuhle Nqunqa, Principal of Msingati Primary School also added her voice to the celebration. “We have worked tirelessly, and it's amazing to see our efforts paying off. I want to thank the Department for their unwavering support and motivation. They have been instrumental in keeping us motivated and driven to excel. This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our teachers and we are proud to be part of this community”, concluded Nqunqa.
