In a significant stride towards enhancing education quality, the Eastern Cape Department of Education's Secondary Curriculum Management, in collaboration with the Directorate E-Teaching and Learning, convened a highly productive Indaba in Nelson Mandela Bay district. This seminal gathering brought together experts, including Curriculum Education Specialists (CES's), Deputy Curriculum Specialists (DES's), and Subject Education Specialists (SES's), representing all 12 districts.

The Indaba's primary objective was to conduct a thorough review of the previous year's results, deliberate strategies for improvement, and establish new benchmarks for the upcoming year. The Deputy Director-General (DDG) for Curriculum, Ray Tywakadi, presented a comprehensive technical report on the Class of 2024's performance, highlighting the department's notable success in achieving its target.

During the Indaba, subject advisors engaged in a meticulous examination of each subject within the FET band, scrutinizing the 2024 results and pinpointing areas that are prone to improvement. The department underscored the importance of prioritising not only the quantity but also the quality of results. This holistic approach empowers the department to refine and enhance its curriculum, ensuring a more effective and engaging learning experience.
