The Eastern Cape Department of Education Head of Department Dr. Naledi Mbude and her Senior Management held a two-day Annual Planning Session at the Mandla Makupula Education Leadership Institute in East London.

"The two- day annual planning session objectives were to improve efficiency and service delivery and its done conjunction with the stakeholders and Service Partners supporting education in the Province, which will lead to finalisation of Annual Performance Plan and Annual Operational Plans," said ECDoE Corporate Strategic Management Chief Director, Tsepho Masoeu.

The two-day event kick-started with the expectations on the Department planning session ice breaker exercise done by the Masoeu.

Dr. Mbude presented strategic overview of the department by appreciating the present relevant stakeholders that managed to make time to attend the annual planning session beyond their busy schedule.

She said, "I am very honoured to see our sister departments managed to put our differences aside and availed themselves to work together going forward to better the EC Province."

Organised Labour Unions, Disability Forum and School Governing Body associations were also given the opportunity to give messages of support to the Department in which they all share the same sentiments of having a successful planning session and working together on the success of the department.

National Education, Health, and Allied Workers’ Union (NEHAWU) representative Zwelakhe Tywala said, "NEHAWU premised its message of support by saying that messages of support are not engaged as they are not inputs, we therefore wishing us all a successful planning session."
