British Council of SA in collaboration with the ECDoE embark on an Online training project

The British Council of South Africa in collaboration with the Eastern Cape Department of Education, and Nelson Mandela University have embarked on an extensive online training project ,which will capacitate educators and inclusion of learners with barriers to learning in mainstream.

Inclusive Education is responsible for providing equal educational opportunities to all learners, regardless of their background, abilities, or disabilities.

It is also aimed to create learning environments where every learner feels valued, respected, and supported to reach their full potential.

This initiative, is a collaboration between the following Directorates, Inclusive Education, Teacher Development, E-Learning, and the Curriculum (General Education and Training/GET) focusing on Teacher Training and Professional Development.

These initiatives provide educators with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to effectively teach in diverse classrooms. Training may cover topics such as differentiated instruction, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and strategies for supporting learners with special educational needs.

It provides training in curriculum adaptation, support services and the establishment of collaboration and partnerships. 

Inclusive Education initiatives advocate for curricular that are flexible and responsive to the needs of all learners.

This may involve adapting teaching materials, modifying assessments, and incorporating diverse perspectives into the curriculum.
