Beware of unregistered schools protect your education
We are expecting the grade 12s of this year to enrol in tertiary institutions across the country. Falling prey to unrecognised institution must be avoided. Registration is a pre-requisite for accreditation by the relevant Quality Council.
Unregistered schools can waste your time and resources. They halt your education, career, and future.
Parents have the right to ask the school and tertiary institutions about their accreditation. Every school and institution are required to hang registration number and detail on the wall.
Parents must do a thorough check before enrolling their child in a new school. A registration certificate is reviewed and deregistered for non-compliance
Some institutions have been deregistered from offering certain courses, but you will find them continuing to offer it, wasting your time and money.
Don't compromise your education and future. Verify school credentials and report suspicious activity. To find out if an institution is registered, contact the Department of Higher Education (DHET) helpline on 0800 87 2222 and ask them if your institution of choice is registered.
