Education MEC Fundile Gade to receive two newly built school structures in the OR Tambo Coastal Education District as a donation from top leadership of Northam Platinum Zondereinde Mine on the 08th & 09th of April 2024 consecutively at 09:00 am.

The new structures in each of the two secondary schools namely, Caguba St Patricks boast with five (5) classrooms, ablution facilities, boreholes, and septic tanks.

The total investment for both project amounted to R14.5 million.

Furthermore, Northam Platinum mine has been involved with some work within this district since 2022. Such projects include the construction and handover of three (3) junior secondary schools namely Mbotyi, Sichwe and Emyezweni.

Furthermore, this partnership has also led to the renovations of some schools within the district, to ensure teaching and learning takes place in a conducive environment.

All these initiatives assisted with learner retention, and restoration of dignity in these schools.
