Cenyu Primary School placed position one in the National School Nutrition Programme School Excellence Awards in 2019/20 financial year.  

One of DBE's strategic partners namely:  Tiger Brands Foundation (TBF) donated to the school a fully fitted kitchen facility to the value of R650 000.  TBF also pledged to add a second meal in a form of breakfast to the school as well as top up stipend of Voluneer Food Handlers.

The provincial department felt the need to celebrate this achievement by hosting a small handing-over ceremony (within the parameters of Covid 19 rules and regulations)which will be attended by MEC for Education as well as DBE officials. 

Due to strict lockdown regulations of Covid-19, the department can only afford to accommodate and host not more than 100 people.
