ECDoE partners with Growthpoint Properties to host creative writing competition.

Eastern Cape Department of Education in partnership with the Growthpoint Properties

(Western Cape), will today host the Spelling and Creative Writing competition finals, on

the 7th of September 2024, at the East London ICC, Buffalo City Education district, from

9:00 am.

The competition is meant to address challenges around reading and spelling in the

province as it is part of the comprehensive reading strategy of the department.

Furthermore, the Reading Strategy and Campaign 2022-2030, ECDoE aims to ensure that

all learners can read with a meaning by the age of 10 years. This also assist in promoting

best practices in reading and language teaching across the education system.

Best performing learners and winners of this year’s competition will receive awards from

Growthpoint Properties. Details of the event are as follows:

All Media houses are invited, and attending journalists will be afforded an opportunity

for one-on-one interviews with the MEC including present partners.
