The Eastern Cape Department of Education will tomorrow morning welcome Coding and Robotics Silver medallist, Kiyara Tami Swartbooi at the King Phalo Airport, Buffalo City Education District, 08:00 am.

Swartbooi, will be welcomed after representing the country in the Beijing Youth Science Creation Competition (BYSCC) themed “Discovery, Innovation and Responsibility”, which started from March 28 – April 1,2024 in which she scooped a Silver Medal for her sterling work.

This boffin is no novice to this field as she also is the 2023 Eskom Expo ISF Silver medallist, and her research project, “Thermal Faucet: A Smart Water Management System”.

This smart faucet (tap) prototype addressed two critical global issues: water and energy conservation. Her innovation is a significant advancement where smart home technology embraces energy and water conservation to produce an intelligent, intuitive, efficient, and cost-effective solution.
